Who are we?

At PAYPRorg we provide 1:1 support for young people aged 8-25 specialising in young people of colour, we have fantastic multicultural mentors who connect and build trusting and honest relationships with the young people in order to support, guide and empower them in whichever aspect and path they are presented with.

Our service specialises in aspects including: single parent households, bereavement/grievance, identity issues/confusion, alcohol/drug abuse/misuse, poverty, criminal activity prevention/intervention, coping with racism, motivation and confidence building and career/business acumen.

Our mentoring service has proven results of over 70% improvement in young people's mental well-being and behaviour along with over 60% improved school and class attendance. Our 1:1 mentoring service is provided via fortnightly 1hour 1:1 sessions for a total of 8 sessions per pupil with the option to extend if necessary.

We also offer invites to all young people who we have previously and are currently mentoring to our free workshops which are delivered either via zoom or in person covering a range of topics with successful professionals in different fields such as: business; health and well-being; psychology; music; sport plus more.

“My son has benefitted so much from the 1-to1 mentoring. He is really socially
vulnerable and has experienced trauma, and substance problems. He has lots of
professionals in his life but finds most of them hard to relate to and it's really hard to
engage him. Mentoring has been totally different. He takes responsibility for it
himself and really hugely values it. He talks about the mentoring enthusiastically and
it's clear he has real respect and finds it relatable. He finds it much easier to get on
with women and he struggles a lot with most adult male professionals, but it's been
identified that he really needs safe male role models. Mentoring is the only
relationship where he has engaged like this.
It's the only thing he takes responsibility for getting himself to, which he finds hard to
do with his neurodiversity and mental health. It's given him hope he can develop a
legitimate career, and often it's really the beacon in his week as he doesn't engage in
education well. It's also made him talk about wanting to mentor younger boys that he
sees being vulnerable in the ways he has been.” – Parent/Carer in 2024

“Since seeing Kane and Abeni I became wiser and felt more confident and positive.
As a young mixed race female they always reminded me of my strengths that
nobody done before. Helped me how to deal with my emotions, showed me how to
use my anger and negative emotions into the fuel of my fire and put that towards my
sports. Just from a year I have changed as a person. Because I spoke about
feelings that I hadn’t spoken about before, I was full of anger as a young child I have
learnt how to look at the different perspectives, accepting things happen out of our
control and how we deal with our emotions can change the whole situation” - Young Person in 2024

Feedback From Young People, Schools and Families

Kane has been supporting some of our most vulnerable students at Varndean School for the past two years. His ability to build and maintain relationships, trust and motivation is excellent and we have seen a significant improvement in behaviour and attitude with many of the individuals he has worked with.
